I got a chance to meet former Seattle Mariner & on & off again MLB network analyst Dave Valle. What some people probably don't know is that he is the Founder & President of Esperanza, (Meaning Hope in Spanish) a development organization focused on serving the most impoverished families in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Since it began in 1995, Valle's organization has handed out 125,000 loans totaling $27 million. Esperanza operates in dozens of rural and semi-rural communities throughout the eastern regions of the Dominican Republic Haiti and has Provided jobs to its citizens and also turned some areas in the country side to baseball fields for Poverty struck kids to have a place to play and develop.
