Q & A with Actress Chelsea Rendon

Chelsea Rendon

Chelsea Rendon began her acting career at the age of six, and has not looked back.

You may know her from films like "McFarland, USA" starring kevin Costner and acting alongside Will Smith recently in the movie "Bright". Currently you can find Chelsea Rendon starring in the STARZ series "Vida" as she plays the outspoken Mari. We caught up with Chelsea for a quick Q & A recently, we would like to thank her for making time for us with her busy schedule. Please Enjoy!


1. Where are you originally from?

Chelsea Rendon: I was born and raised in Montebello, CA.


2. What is the definition of a chingona?

Chelsea Rendon: Badass!


3. Do you think there's room for more diversity for Latin actresses?

Chelsea Rendon: Definitely! We just have to show the world we are more than what they think.


4. How did you get the role of Mari in the new series Vida?

Chelsea Rendon: A friend sent me the breakdown and I loved it. I sent it to my reps and then had to do a self tape audition!


5. Last restaurant you visited?

Chelsea Rendon: Yard House!


6. Named some of your other passions besides acting.

Chelsea Rendon: Life. I try to live my life to the fullest.


7. Do you have a preference as far as doing movies and television?

Chelsea Rendon: I don't. I just love being in front of the camera and being on set.


8. Do you like flying?

Chelsea Rendon: Yes and no. I love traveling but sometimes I get scared. Turbulence is the worst.


9. Who are some of the actresses you looked up to growing up?

Chelsea Rendon: Mariska Hargitay and Michelle Rodriguez


10. Being a child actor can have its trials and tribulations, what has kept you grounded over the years?

Chelsea Rendon: My mom always made sure I was a normal kid so I didn't lose myself.


11. Any new projects you're working on?

Chelsea Rendon: I have two movies coming out later this year; An indie with Danny Trejo called "Murder in the Woods" and "Thriller," a feature film with Blumhouse.


12. Is there any Country you would like to visit, anything on your bucket list and why?

Chelsea Rendon: I've always wanted to go to the Bahamas. The first feature I did when I was 7 my character wanted to go and it just stuck with me
